THE BRIEF

The series aims to provide a platform for everyday people in Lagos to share their stories, experiences, and the challenges they face. To accomplish this, we sought out Tajudeen Balogun, a 40-year-old mariner whose life and career have been deeply influenced by the city, giving him the opportunity to speak his truth to a large radio audience for the first time in his life.







#NigerianOxygen Breathe of Fresh Air

The Story of “Black Jesus” aims to reveal the intriguing reality in the city that’s said to be home to the happiest set of people in the world. The interview-style documentary achieves this by highlighting the extraordinary energy in the city which has prepared Tajudeen for the good, bad and ugly. The stories he shares are heartbreaking but he remains optimistic, assured there is always hope for better days.






Two Sides of a Coin Story, Story

As the saying goes, if you can make it in Lagos, you can make it anywhere. The story of "Black Jesus" celebrates Lagos and its people, offering locals a platform to share their stories with a wide audience. It also gives Nigerians in the diaspora and others a glimpse into life in Africa's most populous city.
